Ready For The Real World?

Before I begin… new layout. It’s slightly out of my comfort zone but I know for a fact that I’ve had a layout similar to this one. I like this one because it’s simple and complex at the same time. The CSS if very fallesque and I’m basically just ready for fall to come. It’s one of my favorite seasons, particularly for fashion. I already have an idea of what my wardrobe will be like this fall. Can’t wait.

Onto more serious things. I always talk about school, but it’s all I really have to talk about most of the time because it’s pretty much my whole life at the moment. 😯 Last week was homecoming week. You know when you have “spirit day” and other themes to get the school excited for the major Homecoming football game.

I participated in 2 of the 5 days. I probably should have done more being president in all, but to be honest; I just didn’t have the spirit last week. Fortunately, our team won the game. The first of the season, I might add. The bad part about homecoming is that the band didn’t get to perform (which I’m apart of) because the homecoming court took up most of the halftime. The crowd was going nuts chanting “We Want The Band”. That was a sign that a lot of people come just to see the band, but it was bad because a lot of the seniors were crying because they did not get to perform their last homecoming. I had sympathy for them, but that’s all I could do. Some good came out of the whole homecoming court thing is that one of my best friends won “King”. I was really happy, but not surprised that he won.

On Saturday, at my Elite Scholars meeting, we had like a mini college fair. Being an Elite Scholar, I have a slight advantage over most students in my county and this was such a great opportunity. Upon this meeting, I decided to stay in my State for the first two years of my college life. Two schools grabbed my attention and I’m considering going to UGA University of Georgia or Morehouse College. Both are really good schools from what I already know, but I still need to do some more research.

I’ve yet to figure out what I want to major in. There’s a great chance it will not be in Graphic Design like a lot of people expect. It may be in business or computer applications. Whatever the choice may be, I need to make a decision fast. I’m eager to start college. Not only to just get away from home 🙂 but just the fact to start being in the real world and being independent. Blogs ago, I mentioned how afraid I was. Today, that is still the case, but I’m somewhat ready now. Next year, I’ll be doing dual enrollment. Taking college classes full time at a local university for both college and high school credit. That should be exciting. And to think… it’s just around the corner.

I hope you guys like the new layout. I shall tend to the site a little more this week because there will be no band practice until Thursday. Still, I need to catch up on some work, but we’ll see how that plays out. Just don’t abandon me, or the site!
